Restore Balance - Mizan Therapy in Kennington, South London

Struggling with painful periods, endometriosis, or fertility challenges? Feeling disconnected from your womb or unheard in clinical settings?

Mizan therapy offers a different path—one that truly sees you as a whole person. This gentle yet powerful abdominal massage helps restore balance when your womb is out of alignment, easing pain, supporting fertility, and bringing you back into connection with your body's centre of creativity and emotion. Whether you're navigating menopause, preparing for pregnancy, or healing postpartum, Mizan therapy creates space for you to feel deeply nurtured, supported, and empowered in your journey as a woman.

  • Mizan therapy is a holistic approach to healing womb conditions, such as endometriosis or painful periods, menopause, late periods and a lot more. Mizan means balance in Arabic and the aim is to restore balance.  For many reasons wombs can be out of balance or tilted.  Based on practices  from different countries, this gentle yet powerful massage will allow you to connect to your womb and feel really looked after, and it will help bring the womb back to its central place, well held by the ligaments, and nourished by all the body's systems.  Work is done on the adrenals, the hips, sacrum, kidneys, glutes, legs, lymphs.  But Mizan is a lot more than just a massage. You will learn to understand how the food you eat, the products you breathe, drink, put on your body, use in your work and home can affect your health and your womb.  The many xeno-oestrogens found in our modern environment can trick the womb  and act like oestrogen, confusing our bodies.  They are one of the main causes of endometriosis, infertility and other womb issues.

  • In most cases I will show you how you can use a womb wrap to support your hips and the ligaments of the womb,  how to do a self-massage of the womb to help you connect with this important centre of creativity and of emotions in your body,  how and when to use castor oil packs and pelvic steam.

  • When you first visit a Mizan therapist, you are required to fill a history form, so that I can understand you better. On your first visit we discuss it, so that I can get really hear about your experience as a woman as well as your lifestyle, diet, general health, emotional state, family situation and history.  This is helpful for me to understand you and be able to advise you on the best way to heal.

After the massage, which lasts about an hour, I will give you an idea about my findings about your body, and I will start to advise you on what to do next.

Mizan therapy also uses plants, tinctures, oils, herbal teas and herbal mixes for pelvic steams.  Each one of these botanical products is adapted to specific conditions.  You can either buy them from me or go on the Mizanbotanicals website to buy them.  Soon after our meeting I will send you a report of all the things I recommend you to do.

This is why the first meeting lasts about 3 hours.  Follow up sessions usually last 90 minutes as I'll ask you how you are doing, discuss your progress and repeat the massage.

As you see, Mizan is more than just a massage.

  • We will discuss your history and your fertility treatment if you have already started with it.  And I will explain how I can help your womb produce healthier eggs, and how to get in touch with your body in a way that is very different from fertility clinics and mainstream gynaecology.  Mizan isn't a medical or surgical solution to fertility.  You might have felt unheard and not seen as a person with specific needs, feelings and experience when you went to a fertility clinic. But fertility is a very personal issue, so I will listen to you, and propose a protocol for you to work with.  We will also look at your diet, lifestyle and that of your partner if possible, in order to increase your chances to become and stay pregnant. This Mizan massage is specific to fertility.  We will probably meet a few times to improve your chances of getting and staying pregnant.

  • I will send you a short form to fill and the massage will be quite different from the usual one, it also includes sweeping movements over the womb, which you can learn to do for yourself and can really help you connect with your baby.  It can really help with pelvic girdle pains and sciatica, which are common in pregnancy, or constriction of the bladder, lungs and stomach.

I have included some Mizan massages pre and postpartum in one of my birth packages.  We can discuss how many you would like and make up a birth package adapted to your needs.

  • During the weeks following the birth, it is very beneficial to get a Mizan massage, whether you gave birth by caesarean section or physiologically.  Over time the massage will change in order to adapt to the changes in your body as it slowly returns to its non-pregnant state.  As usual I will discuss with you whether you need extra care due to pains and discomfort.

At this time I recommend using a castor oil pack, pelvic steam, teas to feel nurtured or for milk production, and the use of a womb wrap, to help hold your pelvis that can be quite sore at this time.

All this is included in the complete birth and postnatal package with Mizan therapy.
