Pregnancy Thai Massage in Kennington, South London

Feeling the weight of pregnancy in your body? Struggling with tension, restless nights, or that ungrounded, overwhelmed feeling?

Thai massage during pregnancy offers gentle relief exactly when you need it most. Through rhythmic pressure and supported stretches, this ancient healing practice helps you rediscover ease where there's tension, brings deeper sleep when rest feels impossible, and restores that vital sense of being grounded, supple, and strong in your changing body. Whether you're carrying physical aches or simply craving a moment to truly relax and reconnect with yourself, pregnancy Thai massage creates space for your body to breathe, release, and renew.

  • Thai massage is done in order to boost one's natural healing process and to allow energy to flow.  The stretches keep you flexible, acupressure on the 10 "sen" lines improves your energy level and it is also deeply relaxing, often bringing better sleep, an improvement in your ability to relax and to feel more grounded, supple and strong.   It provides a sense of ease where there was tension, more flexibility and renewed energy.

  • Traditional Thai massage has roots in Buddhism, yogic practices and Ayurveda from India, as well as Chinese and Thai medicine.

  • A traditional Thai massage is done on a thin mattress on the floor.  Unlike other massages you are meant to wear comfortable and loose clothes as the practitioner kneels next to you and applies pressure on lines that cover your body. These are called Sen in Thai, and can be compared to energy lines in Chinese medicine.  The pressure is applied with the thumbs, elbows, palms of the hands, and occasionally with the feet and knees.  There are also stretches, similar to yoga positions, that allow your body to open without forcing yourself into a position. In pregnancy I’ve found that people respond very well to it and I use a lot of support with pillows to accommodate your changing shape.

  • Usually it takes about 90 mins. For a pregnancy Thai massage, in which some of the moves and stretches are omitted it will take about 75 mins.

  • Everyone can benefit from a Thai massage. However if you suffer from a chronic injury or pain or any medical condition that requires that you can't take too much pressure, it would be better to let me know about it, so that I can adjust the pressure.  On the other hand it you have headaches, the beginning of a cold, or if you are feeling tired and unable to sleep well, it could be just what you need.  If you are unsure about a condition you have and whether it would be helpful to have a Thai massage, please contact me to discuss it.  I can adapt the massage to your own needs.

In pregnancy we can use it to relieve tension, support your growing body and adjust for any pain that comes up through the process.

  • I trained in Wat Po, Bangkok,  over 35 years ago and have practiced this healing massage ever since.
